As you can see the promo shows a variety of people most of which from different ethnic backgrounds to try and show diversity and they all seem to be either smiling or showing that they are happy.
It is a good way to inform the audience to stay happy because he is promting positivity through his music. This not only tells his audience that his audience to be happy in life but he also conveys it through the music video which happens to be catchy so if people are singing the song then they are being reminded to stay happy so it is a great way to inform and educate people not only of Pharrels music but also of his mindset and his thoughts on life. This also tells the audience that Pharell Williams can be seen as a guy who doesn't take life too seriously which can also inform the audience to not stress in life.
The audience for this music video would be everyone because the directors of the video are trying to put all different kinds of people in the video from kids to adults and different skin colored people to show that we as the human race no matter the colour should all be happy and by using people from all different ethnic backgrounds also tells the audience that the artist is diverse and welcoming to everyone. For the age we see a variety of ages ranging from kids to adults and the gender is both because we see men and women. The interests would be to be happy and the locations of the videos are filmed all over from churches to highways. Lastly for the ethnicity it would appeal to all ethnic groups as most of these groups are in the song already so it would appeal to all the audience.
In terms of the codes and conventions used in the video we can see close ups of the singer and also we can see facial expressions and hand gestures such as dance moves which are performed with a smile on the dancers face again indicating the message of the song which is to be happy. This appeals to the audience because the moral of the song influences positivity which is what people in life like to see if the song was promoting something else then it wouldnt be as popular amongst people.
In this video I feel as if the whole meaning behind the song was to try and tell people to always be happy in life and I can say this because we as an audience see people from all ranges and ethnic backgrounds dancing and smilling no matter how hard their situation is and we see them in all different locations. It was very effective when conveying this message. All thrree products come together extremely well because the technical quality such as the camera angles are used in an elaborate and articulate way to try and grab the attention of the audience and also the message of the song is catchy which implies the viewers know what the song is about and it is a simple word to remember which is "happy" and the narrative is easy to understand however I feel the message is the most effective of them all because it is simple and that what will make a message so good to understand because if the message of the song was complex and not many people understood it then not as many people would have viewed the song.
Game trailer:
This is a scene in the new Call of duty trailer which shows a picture of a juggernaut in action and this is used to inform and educate people who are most likely gamers that this is an addition in the game so that those who are going to be purchasing the product are given an insight as to what will be available to use in the game.
Majority of Call of duty users buy the game to play multiplayer which is also known as online. This is a screen grab taken from the multiplayer trailer released by the company themselves on youtube and I think it is a great way to show player of the game some of the types of characters that will be available to use when the game is released. Which is a great way to sell their product.
The audience for this video game promotion would also be a range of different people because despite the fact that it is promoting violence and shooting guns the game itself is actually played by a range of different age groups. In terms of the ages and genders it would be between teenagers and middle aged men with the exception of a few women because men are mainly the people who the fanbase of the game is made up of. This is because it is mainly males who play video games. Of course the interests would be people who have an interest in video games particularly ones about war and guns. The location wouldn't really matter as people all over the world play call of duty and it is known globally. All ethnic groups play call of duty as well.
For the codes and conventions there are multiple camera angle techniques which are used to try and intrigue the audience and with the trailer we can see they have tried to make it look as innovative as they possibly can to try and show their audience how good they game will be so that people can buy it.
The message this connotes would be to simply buy the game because the reason they showed all these different perspectives and characters which you can play as is so that the audience get roped in and want to get involved because then they would want to buy the game.
Theres no real meaning of the game but if the graphics are good and fun to play then people would want to buy it.
TV ident:
The BBC logo can be seen by the audience and it has a faded circle with the logo inside which can be used to inform the audience about the channel they are watching. The purpose of this could be mainly be to promote the channel to the audience but in a way the logo could also educate people as to what channel they are watching incase they do not already know. In other words by BBC showing this before the show starts they are basically selling their product which is their channel.
The audience for BBC one would be people from all age ranges because they show a range of TV shows and programmes which are aimed at people from these different age ranges. I would say the age ranges from 12 to 60 year olds. The gender would be both and their interests would be news, drama, education and sports. The locations would be the UK and ethnicity would be all ethnic groups because most shows which are broadcasted tend to have actors of all ethnic backgrounds to show diversity. They would expect it to be informative and engaging because otherwise it would not be up to their standards as this is what BBC has built its reputation on.
The codes and conventions could be the angle and the shot of the logo because we can see the BBC logo is in the middle of the screen to try and signify to the audience the channel they are watching and the logo is in bold bright letters because it wants to stand out to the viewers.
I think the messages that this logo conveys would be to inform the audience about what channel they are watching and by doing so they also are promoting themselves. It is effective in my opinion because of the way that is displayed. They display it by adding the red background and you can see the BBC logo in the center in big bold letters and the colour is white which makes it stand out.
The technical qualities, messages and narratives compare to each other and they are quite similar. For the technical qualities there are things such as the camera angle and I think that there are not that many camera angles in this ident however the message is to probably tell the audience what they are watching and the narrative is the same. The message would be the most effective for me because it is simple and straightforward. It is just the name of the channel.
